Dramateria.pl Presentations
Dramateria.pl is a survey of all that is currently relevant and alive in Polish theatre and dramaturgy. It provides a glimpse of Poland and Europe from the perspective of young people – practitioners and theorists of the theatre, who present different interpretative possibilities for the latest phenomena in Polish theatrical art, set against the backdrop of social change.
Polish theatre and dramaturgy have taken a leading role in the dialogue with the present. They deal with themes which on the one hand evoke typical Central/Eastern European experiences, while on the other hand speaking universally to us all.
In Rome for the first time, as part of Dramaterii.pl, there will be a chance to see the intersection of two outlooks: the Polish one represented by Polish critics, directors and dramatists and the Italian one, represented by actors, directors and translators, for whom Polish theatre has become both a source of inspiration for their own artistic efforts, as well as an attempt at not only linguistic, but also cultural translation.
Dramateria.pl is a meeting of Poles and Italians; a meeting suffused with the pleasure that flows from discovering common fascinations in a diverse vision of the world.
The Cracovitalia Foundation would like to thank the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Polish Institute in Rome and numerous Italian and Polish partners for help in carrying out this project. We would particularly like to thank the President of Krakow, Prof. dr hab. Jacek Majchrowski for his patronage of “Dramateria.pl”.
This project was carried out thanks to the operational programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, “Promotion of Polish Culture Abroad”.
